ACCOMODATIONS
Our out of town guests are invited to reserve hotel rooms at the following
hotels:
For those wishing to take advantage of Grand Rapids' nightlife on Friday
night and want to be near the Cathedral, we suggest
staying at Courtyard by Marriott. Located in the tallest building in Grand
Rapids, it is close to several downtown hot spots including the Bob (Big
Old Bar) and Van Andel Arena. Chris Brehm, one of our groomsmen, lives in
this building and enjoys all of its amenities.

For those guests who want to stay in an affordable hotel close to the reception
hall, we have reserved a block of rooms for the DODDE XU WEDDING at Hampton
Inn. It is situated right off of 131 at 54th St, making it the closest hotel
to the reception hall. It is also near several restaurants and stores including
Steak N Shake, Chili’s, Target, and Meijer to name a few. Craig’s
Cruisers is also very close by for anyone interested in go-cart racing. The
management has been wonderful to work with in reserving our rooms. Rooms
are available for both Friday and Saturday night.

A third option for our guests is the Amerihost Inn. It is slightly farther
from the reception hall, but is the best bargain we could find. It is located
at the 76th St. exit off of the 131 expressway. A group of rooms has also
been reserved under the DODDE XU WEDDING.

St.
Mary Magdalen's reception hall will be the
site of our
celebration
following the the ceremony. The parish and
hall hold many memories for the Dodde family who have been parishioners
for close to
30 years. Donielle's mother, Barb works on the staff at the parish and
we are happy to be having part of our celebration take place at this
important spiritual place in Donielle's life.
The dinner reception and dance
will be held at 4 PM. In the interim, Peter and Donielle recommend the
following attractions in Grand Rapids: Make
sure to take a stroll by the campus of Catholic Central High School, Donielle's
alma mater, located on the same property as the Cathedral, check out the
Grand River, Van Andel Museum, Frederick Meijer Botanical Gardens, or relax
in your rooms. There is also a great go-cart race track located on the
way to the reception, Craig’s Cruisers. Enjoy a go-cart race, a game
of putt-putt golf, bumper boats and video games!
